"To take a photograph is to align the head, the eye and the heart. It's a way of life."
 Henri Cartier-Bresson

Photography has been part of my life since I was a child about 10 years old,  chasing my brother to his darkroom and witnessed the liturgy of the Magic.

I think my first camera was a pocket
Agfamatic 3008 pocket I received as a birthday gift. Almost ten years later, the first SLR that opened my eyes to a new world was a Praktica super TL1000 I retain to this day. Then there was a time of compact (first analog, then digital) cameras until my first digital SLR, a Canon EOS 450D. The latest addition to the family has been he wonderful Canon EOS 7D, who I affectionatelly call Mr. 7D because of its physical forcefulness.

I am self-taught photographer, I try to learn and improve my skills every day, keeping in mind the Taoist assertion that ultimately, once learned, mastered and internalized the technique, we must forget and let go, simply flow.

"Ultimately, you must forget about technique. The further you progress, the fewer teachings there are. The Great Path is really NO PATH"
Ueshiba Morihei

I would love to be more than a simple " images catcher”. I try to put my heart in each one of the photos that I shot, capturing the soul of the photographed. The dialogue between photographer and photographed is like a small friendship or like a little love story. This is why I like to take my time to build this relationship, to meet us, to take confidence in each other, just  to reach that state of mind in which everything flows naturally. This may not be too "professional" but for me it is as it should be done.

Technical Questions

My Gear

• Canon EOS 450D
• Canon EOS 7D
• Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM
• Sigma 18 200 mm f3.5-6.3 DC OS
• Tokina 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 FISHEYE
• Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro

My Method

• I always shot in  RAW, the purest file format in which the camera doesn’t apply any compression to the data.
• I shot (almost) always in Manual Mode, so I can decide all so I can control all the factors that affect the outcome and final appearance of the photo. This translates into a bit more preparation and adjustment of the camera, since the calibration is almost a craft procedure.
Light is the ultimate cause of the images we capture. And there’s nothing better than natural light. This is why I rarely use flash or other artificial lighting if I have the minimum sufficient natural light.

My DarkRoom

All my photos have some work in digital processing, partly because it’s necessary given that shoot RAW, and partly to improve the contrast, color, etc.. For this task I use mainly Adobe Lightroom.
For more creative works and more specific questions I use Adobe Photoshop .
